  1. Utility-scale solar installations are growing faster than any other generating technology at an average rate of 72% each year.
  2. In 2017, more than half of U.S. solar workers were spending the majority of their time working on commercial or utility-scale projects. (Hint: there is skilled labor out there if you are looking to power a commercial building with solar).
Other Fun Facts
  1. The White House has had some experience with Solar Power. In 1979, Jimmy Carter had 32 solar panels installed. Those have since been removed and put back again in 2010 by President Obama.
  2. The cost of solar power equipment decreases year after year. The International Energy Agency predicts this could make solar energy the number one source of electricity as early as 2050.
  3. In a single hour, the amount of power from the sun that strikes the Earth is more than the entire world consumes in a year (Business Insider). This one blows us away.
