Schools should be managing their energy use on the daily. Especially if that school is part of any type of energy saving initiative. School

Hot water and Cooling

This comes in at a general lower spend. Most schools require cooling, but there are many ways to achieve savings in this area. Hot Water using in mostly bathrooms and showers, but hot water isn’t running constantly.

IT & Office Equipment

Most schools have a general office filled with staff, each having their own desk and computer hardware. The cafeteria has registers and the computer lab is full of hardware. Then there is every classroom in the school, typically the teacher has a computer and maybe there are a couple for student use.

Lighting

Coming in as the 2nd highest spend at a school. This of course is highly crucial, every room needs to be well lit and in working order.

Heating

Heating is the number one cause of spend in a school. Most schools are heated during colder seasons with gas. It is however three times cheaper than electric heating.
