Electro Industries Advances Shark 200 Power Meter for Utility Substation Power Measurements


Westbury, NY (Wednesday, November 14, 2012) – Electro Industries/ GaugeTech (EIG) announces advanced new features for the Shark 200 multifunction energy and power meter with data-logging and extensive I/O. Enhanced Frequency measurement has been improved to provide accuracy to 0.001%. This feature allows the power meter to be used for power system frequency analysis and as a high performance frequency transducer.

Additional utility features include improved real time clock synchronizing for more accurate load profiling, wider dynamic voltage under-range, more communication port selections and many more functions.

The Shark 200 is used by industry and utilities worldwide to measure and report on electrical power. EIG is committed to its many thousands of installed base and as such the company offers these features at no additional cost in all new units and as a no cost firmware upgrade for all existing commissioned units.

Electro Industries Releases Shark 50 Power Meter


Westbury, NY (Wednesday, October 17, 2012) – Electro Industries/ GaugeTech (EIG) announces the release of the Shark 50 multifunction energy and power meter. The Shark 50 power meter is a cost-effective, easy-to-use and install electrical panel power meter that meets 0.5% Accuracy classes. This power meter is ideally suited to OEM and commercial applications.

The power meter’s low component count and DSP design make it highly reliable and superior for long life operation. The power meter can be equipped with an optional Modbus RS485 serial port for digital communication of energy usage data and a KYZ Pulse to pulse energy usage. The product is perfect for tenant metering, low voltage panel board power metering and other high volume deployment.

Electro Industries Releases Automated Energy Reporting and Billing Software


Westbury, NY (Wednesday, August 22, 2012) – Electro Industries/ GaugeTech (EIG) announces its E-Billing EXT™ energy reporting, analysis, and billing software. This application imports historical log energy usage data from EIG’s Nexus and Shark series meters and generates detailed and useful energy reports for analyzing energy use, planning and load curtailment.

The software lets multiple users generate customized energy reports to study energy usage and demand enterprise-wide. For example, display Peak Energy Usage for the day, week, and month, or compare usage between meters, locations, and customers. The software’s automated billing module allows a user to generate sub-metering bills based on customized rate structures for Energy and other commodities such as Water and Gas.

Electro Industries Releases Self-Enclosed Shark Power Meter Assembly


May 9, 2012 – Electro Industries/GaugeTech (EIG) announces the release of its Shark power meter in NEMA 12 enclosure. This assembly lets customers expand their switchgear capability without expensive and time-consuming redesign. The assembly comes pre-wired and configured in either a 120V or a 277V (for 277/480V systems) voltage configuration. The Self-Enclosed Shark Power Meter Assembly is the perfect retrofit solution in environments where there is no available metering compartment. It can be easily mounted and wired next to existing switchgear.

The assembly can be ordered with one of three highly accurate multifunction Shark Series meters: the Shark 100 energy and power meter; the Shark 100B power meter with native BACnet/IP protocol; or the Shark 200 power meter with data-logging and extensive I/O.

Electro Industries Releases Auto Export™ Power Metering Software


March 27, 2012 – Electro Industries/GaugeTech (EIG) announced the release of its unique Auto Export™ software, which is offered as a free download from its website: https://www.electroind.com/em-auto.html

The Auto Export™ application lets you take historical log data from one of EIG’s award-winning Nexus series or Shark 200 power meters and automatically create a spreadsheet with the data you want. Then the Auto Export™ application can email the spreadsheet to you or anyone else you specify, as soon as it is created. This feature is ideal for sending monthly energy usage data to load planners and estimators. You can also perform a manual export of the data whenever you want.

Electro Industries Shark 100B Power Meter Declared EC&M Category Winner

Electro Industries Power Meters Qualify Under Buy American Act of 1933


June 21, 2011 – Electro Industries/GaugeTech (EIG) announces that its Shark and Nexus Series metering products qualify as purchases under the Buy American Act of 1933, 41 U.S.C. Statute 10a et seq. Originally signed into law by President Franklin Roosevelt, this Act gives preference to American products for purchases using federal funding. This has been very important lately due to Federal Stimulus funding that has been available.

EIG has been assembling power meters in the US since 1975. Currently, all Nexus and Shark power meters are assembled in our State of the Art manufacturing and test facility located in Westbury, NY.

Electro Industries Releases P40N+ LED Display with USB Download Capability


March 24, 2011 – Electro Industries/GaugeTech (EIG) announces the release of its P40N+ LED advanced display with USB port. This display is designed for use with EIG’s award-winning Nexus family of Smart power monitors. The compact P40N+ features three lines of data display and a front panel USB port for direct data downloads and real time polling. The USB port lets the P40N+ connect directly to a computer for remote viewing and downloading of all power meter data and logs. The P40N+ can also act as a Master display to EIG’s Amps and Watts/VAR/PF displays, giving access to all readings from the slave displays.

Electro Industries Releases Rack Mount Assembly for the Nexus 1252 Power Meter


January 28, 2011 – Electro Industries/GaugeTech (EIG) announces a 19-inch rack mount assembly for its Nexus 1252 advanced performance power meter and power quality recorder. The assembly is designed to allow the Nexus 1252 meter to be easily installed in 19-inch rack mount substation control panel applications. It is pre-wired with the Nexus 1252 meter, offers between one and three LED displays, and an extensive array of optional I/O modules. The rack assembly also features a built-in test switch and a front-panel download data port. It is ideally suited for easy installation and low cost maintenance for critical substation power monitoring applications.
